Holy cow...I think they were 900 apiece when I bought them...so I feel better? Maybe not....they were quite the dent. ;)
...but finally I found something that could keep up with the rest of the system...and after all of the work that was done I just had to try to finish it right.

What are your impressions of those Fostex tweeters ? I never heard them before.

The best compression tweeters I had heard before these were the ev t350 super tweeters.
The general impression is that they are very fast, very clean and just easily take the load off the altec horns,
letting them do what they do best. I still have a pair of magnepans with their beautiful sounding ribbon tweeters.
Heck the hi end of all three of these mentioned was/is a joy to listen to.
But the Fostex is serious kit, bordering on perfection...
The upside to these tweeters was how well I could place them on the horn and maintain
the aural focus of the point source I was interested in replicating. That's why I wish I had a larger room. It will only get better...in the right room.

Oh well, where there?s life, there?s hope, so one more time......'maybe next year'???.
Those are really ?sweet? sounding [super] tweeters to my well abused hears! Way back when, me and a couple of local Altec centric folks experimented with 802s coupled to short super tweeter horns to good effect, but didn?t have any quality consumer units to compare to. I?m guessing though that they would be a distant second to an appropriately sized one for the BW such as the Fostex.

The one element that vexed me was understanding how to design the sealed chamber for the mid bass horns...I did my internet research...looked through a couple hundred of your posts...realized you had an innate understanding of the physics of what was going on inside and outside....and then I asked for help...and I got more than I bargained for.
So, again thanks for the lesson in theory...it was deeply appreciated.
But, it sure is sad that someone with all this acoustic theory doesn't have his own sound lab working on some boss audio projects. I wish you success in getting your system re-constructed. I realized after my Dad passed away that I was the inheritor of all he had experimented with and learned about audio. And I'm grateful for the inspiration to continue the tradition. That's what I appreciated in this forum as well...a lot of gear heads trying to keep the search for good audio going.

Earl...it was nice of you to straighten out the image issue...
I'm not sure what is going on...but it didn't do that 5 years ago! ☺️

You're welcome! I've forgotten, did the net volume [Vb] for the compression chamber work as is or did you have to tweak it? If so, please refresh my memory on what all you did because all my old correspondence, tech data, you name it is 'buried' on a damaged HD.

Re: Merry Christmas...it's been a while
Hello All and Merry Christmas :) long time no type. I have been away from the audio boards for quite some time but I'm back in the audio swing again. Been doing some measuring lately and have some juicy stuff to post in the coming weeks. I have a full set of measurements on the 32B with a couple of different Altec drivers and just started work on phase 2 mods for the A15 / M500 so hope to pay back a bit for all of the help I have received here over the years.
Re: Merry Christmas...it's been a while
Looking forward to it Marty !

I'm looking...and will try to resurrect this data...
All I have right now to tell you is that it is a very small volume...hermetically sealed with that black neoprene rubber you folks turned me on too back when.
Here's a pic of the chamber:
